Thanks for your SUPERB attention and service! I love my little car and have named her Treenie. (It just came to me.) I am making a list of stuff that I will come in to get help with in person. (Mainly, how to properly work the display screen and how to access quickly things like re-setting the miles when filling up the tank. For example, I'm seeing 192 on the odometer which is the total miles driven. I received the car though after it had been driven from the other dealership. The miles should be set at "0" when filling up the tank. Perhaps you did not re-set it when you filled up the tank before I received the car on Sunday morning, the 17th... Because I know I should be getting better gas mileage than what is showing...This is one thing I need help with.)
The information is probably buried in the manuals, but even with it, I still learn better by doing, not reading.
I will come in during my vacation, next week, April 1-5, during a weekday. I will call you before and set up a good time for you.

So, how do I know when to bring it in for service and all that? I'm sure you told me, but I don't remember, as I was a bit overwhelmed.
I have to say I just went thru the easiest and most fun car-buying experience ever here. The last time I bought a Prius 6 years ago at a different dealership it was like an automotive root canal. Endless pressure, haggling and drama with notes being sent back and forth from the manager to the sales guy with happy or sad faces drawn on them. (Manager says NO, sad face...omg). I remembering it dragging on for hours...
Not here. I walked in and Joe Tesca the sales guy came with an approach I could handle. Tell me the numbers you wanna make and we'll make it happen. I knew which Prius C I wanted, what I had for a down, and what I needed for monthly pays. With about an hour of finangling, he made it ALL occur. Within 3 hours I had the perfect car.
Also a shout-out to Tee Tran, the invincible and funny finance guy. Really, who knew that signing my life away to 40 different documents could be so much fun? And especially, no feeling of being pressured into anything I didn't want...when I turned down certain options, we just moved on. Yet gave me honest opinion of certain add-ons which I appreciated and even did end up purchasing a repair-dent program that will serve me as the Official Dent Magnet Queen of Oakland. It really was a whole other way of working that I truly appreciated.
So HIGHLY recommend buying your Toyota here. I had dreaded going thru the car-buying mill given the past but it was great!
Great car buying experience. My wife and I have been looking at trading in her Altima for a Prius. We went to Toyota dealerships all over, from Stevens Creek to Dublin and this dealership treated us the best.
Usually when I go to buy anything where the salesperson is making commission whether it be cars or jewelry or whatever, I go in very hostile. I hate being sold to, I hate the stereotypical "used car salesmen" type. But Rocky Sizemore, our salesperson that helped us was great!
I felt no pressure from Rocky at all. My "salesperson walls" quickly came down. He was only there to help and was very friendly. Rocky answered all of our questions and was very patient with us. He let us test drive multiple different Prius' that they had.
We didn't have to negotiate back and forth, we told him what we could pay per month and he made it happen. There was no negotiation or trying to sell me stuff I had no interest in. He found out what I needed, what I wanted to pay and made it happen.
He gave us a great deal on a 2010 Prius. We even got a great deal on our traded in Altima, higher than any of the other dealers offered. When I'm ready to trade in my Chevy Tahoe, I know exactly where I'll be going.
Just purchased a 2013 Prius Plug-in here and they were GREAT! Willie Milton did a terrific job as our sales guy. We felt very comfortable with him and he gave us great respect. If he did not know something about the Prius plug in he quickly found the answer for us. The finance team (Tee and other team members) were also very helpful and knowledgeable. We had purchased 3 cars from Berkeley but decided to try Oakland this time after mediocre Berkeley experience. From the moment we called Downtown Toyota, and through the entire process the whole team was friendly, honest and fantastic. If you need a Prius plug in, call Downtown Toyota. The entire team has my respect and my highest recommendation.
I made a weekday appointment to get a recalled part replaced. When I arrived at 9 am, I was told that it would take until about 2 pm to finish. I said that's no good -- I need my car for work at 12 pm. They offered to give me another car for the day, but I explained that I'm a dog walker and they don't want a bunch of filthy post-hike dogs in their rental cars! So the service rep said that he would see what he could do to get the car done before noon. I rolled out at 11:40 am. I appreciated the good service.
We've been coming here for 25 years and our experience has been excellent and obviously different from other Yelpers. We bought a new car from them at a great price. We always get our car serviced here. Its more expensive than some other places but well worth it because they get the job right the first time, get it done when they tell you and they will pick you up and drop you off. They also have rental cars. We always work with John Rowe in the service area. He provides outstanding customer service. John is incredibly knowlegeable, explains things so we can understand them and always responds thoroughly to our questions.. He is very honest and doesn't try and over sell on us on things we don't need. My wife often takes in the car and John really treats her with respect. At other places the men in the service area (and some of them here) are too sexist to really listen to what women are saying. My wife was a machinist and understands mechanical things much better than a lot of men but in the car world this often doesn't count. John listens to what she says and takes her perspectives seriously. We've referred a number of people to John over the years and they have all been satisfied.
BEST CAR-BUYING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD ...
I'm writing this review on September 5, 2011. My wife and I just purchased a used car from Louis Mazzeo and with his manager whose name I don't recall.(John? maybe)
I'm here to tell you I've never been treated better by ANYONE I've purchased a car from, and I've bought a dozen. Now Lou, (whose business card title reads "Grand Poo BAH") might seem a little gruff at first-- unless, like me, you're from the NY area-- in which case he sounds like all your relatives and everyone you grew up with.
He's actually a very nice guy, a real motorhead with some great stories, and someone I feel I could trust.
I hesitate to mention all the particular things they did for us because there's no guarantee they would do the same for you. Well, anyway, after we checked out the car Louis asked the quintessential: "What would it take to get you to buy this car today (before you go look at the 5 others you've researched online?)"
We said they'd need to match the lowest price we'd found, AND fix virtually every minor flaw we could find on the vehicle.
So here's the mind-blowing part... The actually did it! We're talking dent removal, professional quality paint touch-up and a brand new keyless entry remote-- On a USED car!
Oh, and did I mention the below Blue Book sales price? I still can't get over it, and like I said, I don't think they could do this with everybody.
Also, everyone else we met at the dealership was polite, respectful and the whole transaction was actually quite enjoyable. The car looks like new, and thus far runs great.
I would highly recommend Louis Mazzeo and Downtown Toyota. We plan on buying our next car from him if we can. We will certainly check with Lou first, to see if he can get us what we want.
